Weight - To calculate bandwidth usage we take the number of hours and/or the number of item sent and multiple that by a weighted value. Different interactions over the internet take up a different amount of bandwidth. For example streaming or watching a video over the internet (about 3-5 GB) is far more bandwidth than sending a typical email with not attachments (about 15 KB per message).
Data Value - is measured by the number of bytes. (GB, MB, or KB.)
The sliders on the main page are measured in GB. We use the values below to determine the values in MB and KB.
- 1 GB = 1024 MB
- 1 GB = 1048576 KB
